EOT Stages

End of TRAIL is just around the corner I know every one is anxious to know more about the stages. So here are a few facts

You will need :
120 Pistol Rounds
101 Rifle Rounds
52 Shotgun Rounds

There are 10 pistol knockdowns of which 2 are not counted as misses and 4 can be re-engaged.
There are 11 rifle knockdowns of which 5 can be made up.
There are 2 flying birds of which both have make up targets.

This is one of the easiest set of stages in EOT in a while. I think the most fun will be the exploding bridge. You should get a charge out of it. ; )

Also, there are 2 stand and deliver stages and the rest have slight movement.

That is all for now. This is a record 2 Blogs in one day! YeHa

"Intercontinental Horseshoe Championship of the World"

Just got my feet back on the ground after Mule Camp. Great Match it was good to see old friends and congratulations to the Mule Camp Champions, Red River Ray and Maggie Darling.

The match was excellent and our posse was a hoot. I really enjoyed all the festivities and especially the Intercontinental Horseshoe Championship of the World. In which, I entered as an under dog, a virtual complete unknown. But in the end "I PUT OUT THE FIRE !"

That is right I won it all and sent "Team Fire" packing along with the new comer Badlands Drifter as well. Team Fire was no where to be found after the dust settled and I, Coyote Calhoun, last of the Great Calhoun's stood alone at the top. I heard Ringo changes his name to Ringo Ashes. It was sad to see the former champion go down in flames. (Ha Ha)

This is my first World Championship, and now that I am the "Intercontinental Horseshoe Championship of the World" with the buckle I will have compassion on Team Fire and give him his rematch. There will be more to follow. I will also have some photos in the next few days.

I am awating information from Horseshoe Intercontinental Championship of the World Home Office (HICOTWHO), as how to proceed with the rematch.

Till Next Time

SASS and Ruger Team Up

If you were at the NRA Convention you got a sneak preview of the new Ruger / SASS Vaquero. If you were not there here is a little bit about it.

The first thing you notice is the standard Vaquero hammer has been replaced with a new, wider and lower “Montado-style” hammer. This hammer is easier to reach and will fast become a favorite of all Cowboy Action Shooters. This hammer style has always been legal on adjustable sighted guns like the Ruger “Blackhawk” and is now legal on all fixed sighted revolvers. As you look down the barrel, you will notice the next new feature of the Ruger/SASS Vaquero—the
front sight is easier to see because the rear sight has been widened to 140 thousands of an inch. The standard New Vaquero has a rear sight of 100 thousands. You know the old saying, “You can’t hit the target if you can’t see your front sight,” and this modification makes it much easier to see that all-important front sight!

The Ruger/SASS Vaquero will initially be offered in Ruger’s Gloss Stainless finish, .357 caliber, and a 4- 5/8 inch barrel. It will also be marked with a special series of serial numbers beginning with “SASS” in the serial number. Last, but certainly not least, the grip will be black hard rubber grips, and they will come with full color SASS logo buttons. This really gives the gun a very distinctive look and will be unmistakable on the range. The gun will be packaged in a special double box and sold as a consecutive serial numbered set. The Ruger/SASS Vaquero will be available in July, depending upon production, and will be available at your local Ruger dealer and though the SASS Mercantile.

We at SASS are extremely excited about the new Ruger /SASS Vaquero. I am sure as soon as you see one, you will be as excited as we are! With this combination of features and the reliability of the Ruger Vaquero, this will be an unbeatable combination. Also, don’t forget END of TRAIL is just around the corner, and you will be able to take a peak at one there!

See you at END of TRAIL!

The NRA Convention

I have just returned home from the NRA Convention in Phoenix, Arizona where Hipshot and I, with the help of Bighorn and several other SASS members from the Phoenix area, manned the SASS booth. We were able to visit and talk with a tremendous number of current and potential SASS members. The convention in Phoenix is one of the largest NRA conventions I have ever attended and may have been one of the largest in NRA History. The NRA certainly put its best foot forward in producing the convention this year, and I applaud them. In these times we need the NRA more than ever. If you have never attended the NRA Convention, you should do so. The convention moves around the country to make it easier for members to attend, and next year’s
convention is in Charlotte, North Carolina May 14-16. Mark your calendars.

END of TRAIL hint: Stage one at Buffalo Stampede lost all its knockdowns.

The NRA Show is in Phoenix beginning next Friday. Hipshot and I will be there if your are going to be there stop by the SASS Booth.

And if that wasn't enough "The Shoot Out At Mule Camp" will start May 21st. I will be there as well, shooting Classic 49er. It is a category San Quinton and the Mule camp Gang came up with. It sounds like fun. So I am game.

Also worked on END of TRAIL stages over the weekend. I lost a lot of knock-downs.

Thats all for now.

My how time flys

Well after creating this blog I have taken a few months off.

MY HOW TIME FLYS.

I have just returned home from NM and the Buffalo Stampede. The match was a success and stages went well but I am having to make some changes to the EOT stages. I tried some different things and they did not work. Not to worry, this will make EOT better. It is fun to play with different stuff. Some of it works and makes it into EOT Stages and some don't.

In the next month I will let a few thing "slip" about EOT stages. Just to help give a little importance to the Blog and keep the interst stimulated.

We also, had our Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of the NM Office. Gov Bill Richardson was in attendance and cut the ribbon. Quite a few SASS Members were there from the Buffalo Stampede as well.

Also, Alli MO I got your email and will reply. I am going to crash the rest of the day. It was a long drive home.

Till Monday
